Provenance
This item is believed to have come from the personal collection of Margaret Simon, who served as secretary to Paul Bern in the late 1920s and was a close friend of Jean Harlow. After leaving Bern, she worked in wardrobe at Universal Studios during its celebrated monster film era, then spent the remainder of her career at MGM. She maintained a scrapbook throughout her years in Hollywood that included photographs, letters, signatures, and other memorabilia. As the story goes, her nephew eventually came into possession of her collection and sold signatures cut from the scrapbook, along with photos, letters, and other signed pieces. This information was provided by a prior collector of items from this collection. Additional pieces from the same find are available on our site.
